(June 23, 2026) This is the motion put forward for a churchwide vote by the One Board Church Council. The Council unanimously recommends that church members approve the motion. The vote will occur Sunday June 28th, 2026, following the 11a.m. service.
RESOLUTION OF THE CHURCH CONFERENCE OF PASADENA COMMUNITY CHURCH, INC.
AT A DULY CALLED Church Conference of Pasadena Community Church (“the Church”), the Church hereby adopts the following Resolution:
WHEREAS,
The Pasadena Community Church sanctuary was hit by Hurricane Milton in October of 2024, and this hurricane exposed extensive problems with the entire structure.
WHEREAS,
After the Pasadena Community Church conducted extensive research with engineers and listening sessions with the congregation, a duly called Church Conference was called on February 22, 2026, and the members present voted to tear down the sanctuary with a 90% Consensus.
WHEREAS,
A team was formed to research the options for the pipe organ in the sanctuary. After research with three organ companies, the team found that removing, storing, and reusing the current organ was financially unfeasible, and unanimously recommended that the congregation try to sell the organ. The Church Council unanimously agreed with the recommendation.
WHEREAS,
After an open town hall meeting on June 14, 2026, those present expressed the following priorities.
- Sell (or donate) the organ intact to another congregation or organization.
- Sell (or donate) as much of the organ as possible so that some of it might be saved.
- If neither of these is possible, work with an organ company to remove and dispose of the organ in hopes that some parts could be reused.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that,
- The Church Council is hereby authorized and directed to offer for sale the Church’s pipe organ on terms determined by the Church Council. The pipe organ shall first be offered for sale as a whole unit.
- If the Church has not entered into an agreement to sell the pipe organ on acceptable terms within 90 days of listing it, the Church Council is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of the pipe organ in whatever manner the Church Council determines to be best.
