(August 6, 2026) An Important Update on Our Preschool Construction Project
Dear Pasadena Community Church Family,
As we look toward the future of our ministry and the exciting move of our renowned preschool to the Life Enrichment Center,”the Building Oversight Committee wants to share an important update regarding our construction progress.
To ensure we exercise the best stewardship of our church’s resources, this week, the PCC Building Oversight Committee unanimously recommended, and the PCC One Board unanimously approved, a change of the general contractor for this project. We are transitioning from Churches by Daniels to a trusted local partner: St. Petersburg-based All Phase Commercial General Contractors.
Why All Phase?
Bringing All Phase on board is a wonderful win for Pasadena Community Church. They bring more than 16 years of robust commercial building experience, having constructed everything from medical and office facilities to retail spaces. The company recently completed construction on the beautiful Safety Harbor Public Library. Even closer to our hearts, the leadership at All Phase has deep family and personal ties to our own church community.
After an exhaustive review of our existing blueprints, All Phase submitted a competitive bid that allows us to move forward while keeping the project substantially on budget.
What This Means for the Timeline
While this is the right decision for the long-term financial health of the project, changing contractors does introduce some short-term timing challenges. We are currently working through the necessary administrative updates required for All Phase to issue their own paperwork to obtain building permits from the city. Changing General contractors will not change the construction footprint.
The best-case scenario would open the preschool after the Spring Break 2027. However, given the typical timeline in St. Petersburg, the building permitting process might well put the moving of the preschool closer to the end of the Spring semester (June 2027). All of you who have had to rebuild and repair your homes and businesses after the 2024 hurricanes are familiar with the complexities and unpredictable nature of the current permitting process. Moving earlier saves PCC money, but it may take until June to complete the construction and preschool licensing for the new preschool space.
Additionally, our Building Oversight Committee remains in close, active communication with Mattamy, the developer under contract to purchase the land that is home to where our current preschool. Mattamy has been an accommodating partner in this process.
