Congregational Teams Kick-off

(April 14, 2026) The three teams approved by the church congregation have stated their work. You can watch a 35-minute video of the meeting here.

Pastor Mark Holland blessed the three teams appointed by the Church Council.

The Master Plan Team, chaired by Gary Butler. This team will begin exploring the congregational vision. The work of the team will give way to a building committee that will design and oversee the building of a new worship center.

The Recovery and Reuse Team: chaired by Joe Borgia. This team will explore which items in the Hamilton Building, the Chapel, and the Sanctuary can reasonably be removed and kept, and what should be sold or donated for reuse. The work of this team will eventually give way to a team that will oversee the demolition of the Hamilton and Sanctuary.

Jerger Hall Update Team: chaired by Tricia Rahter. This team will explore how to improve our current worship space in the LEC gym. This will allow the facility to serve multiple uses while enhancing the worship experience.

These teams will make recommendations to the Church Council about major decisions to be made. For example, the Recovery and Reuse Team will make recommendations about the future of the refurbished pipe organ, the Church Council will consider that recommendation, and then, likely, submit the recommendation to the church membership. Most decisions will not require a congregational vote.
