Forward Pinellas, the county board that oversees land use and transportation needs for communities in the country overwhelmingly approved the requested zoning changes for Onyx+East to develop the two parcels that Pasadena Community Church is selling.

St Petersburg Councilmember Gina Driscoll, who voted for the zoning change at the city council level, told the Forward Pinellas board that she considers the Onyx+East plans to build townhomes and single-family homes is a “segway” from the commercial properties and the residential properties in the surrounding area. She called the Onyx+East plans “thoughtful development.”
The final step to approval is a county commission vote on October 15th.
